Selena Gomez - an international actress and performer - is a household name. Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place, one of the most prestigious projects she was a part of and achieved the greatest successes, is her own project. Selena Marie Gomez, her full title is. Selena Marie Gomez was born in Grand Prairie in Texas on July 22, 1992. Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez were her parents. Selena's mom was 16 an old when she came into the world. When she was 9 the actress got her first work as a showgirl after she was offered the role as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. In the process, she played with the world's most anthropomorphic and red dinosaurs. Selena performed for many seasons, including seasons 7 and 8,, from 2001 until 2003. As a fun fact: Selena isn't the only one who sang on Barney and the Friends during this period; Demi Lovato was also part of the team that starred in the series. Selena Gomez had a few auditions for various films and shows following the conclusion of the show Barney and his Friends. The auditions were not successful. After leaving the series, Selena went on to audition for a variety of roles in different programs and films but wasn't very successful. The film also featured her as Emily Grace Garcia, a character she created a musical for in 2006's Brain Zapped.
